ROBIN WILEY: After moving from Austin, Tx via New York City and LA, Robin has worked with some of the top producers and musicians, becoming a highly sought-after vocalist. Robin has numerous national jingles and voice-overs to her credit with appearances as an actress on “Jimme Kimmel Live”, “Sarah Silverman” and “Ghost Whispers”. Locally, Ventura County Star’s Bill Locey picked Robin as their featured weekend artist. Collaborating with Grammy nominee Frankie Fuchs, they have begun revamping and performing many Woody Guthrie songs in addition to developing her own original material. Robin’s newest CD “Somethin’ bout Love” is now a reality; the house highly recommends Robin’s CD as a fine effort - worth the purchase! Appearing with Robin will be singer/songwriter, Frankie Fuchs.
ROB RIO: Singer/songwriter/pianist Rob Rio, dubbed “boggie-woogie virtuoso” by Keyboard Magazine, plays the boogie-woogie and jump blues of the 20’, 30’s, 40’s and 50’s with a virtuosity that has excited audiences around the world for more than 25 years. In 2008, he was inducted into the Boogie Woogie Hall Of Fame by the Cincinnati Blues Society. A native of the Bronx, he now resides in LA and currently performs at festivals, events and clubs throughout Southern California - nationally and abroad, either solo or with his 5-piece band, The Revolvers. Rob does regular session work, has recorded and performed with some of the top names in the business including Mick Jagger, Joe Cocker, Canned Heat, Billy Boy Arnold, William Clark, Coco Montoya and many others. Welcome Rob!
BOB CHEEVERS: Eight-time Emmy Award winning songwriter, performer and touring professional, Bob Cheevers has performed in hundreds of concerts world-wide and countless BBC radio shows throughout his career. Author of over 1,500 songs, Bob was asked to join Johnny Cash on Johnny’s last tour, has worked with Doogie McLean, Hal Ketchum, George Hamilton (V), James House and countess other luminaries in the entertainment industry. Hailing from Austin Texas, Bob has recorded 7 CD’s with two reaching Americana top 20 status. Cheevers’ latest CD Delta-Celtic music he translates as “Celtic tunes dipped in Mississippi Delta mud”. When asked if his songs mirror his life he said “I don’t know if these stories are true, but they happened to me!”
DUTCH NEWMAN AND THE MUSICAL MELODIANS WITH MIKAL SANDOVAL:
If you enjoy seeing a band in costume of the roaring 20’s and 30’s expertly playing the music of this era, you’ll love this group! Dutch Newman writes original songs, influenced by Duke Ellington, Ted Weems and Earl Hines. The Musical Melodians include the talented stage performer Mikal Sandoval, Dutch Newman on guitar and vocals, trombonist/violinist Daniel Weinstein, formerly of the Ray Charles Band, Bob Mitchell on keyboard, Corey Gemme, a regular on the local early jazz scene on cornet and reeds formerly with the Stout Big Band plus John Reynolds on banjo and guitar formerly with Cab Calloway, Dave Jones on bass, Chloe Feoranzo on sax,. “San Francisco Songbird” Mikal Sandoval currently hosts her own monthly Speakeasy in Venice and has performed recently with Grammy Award winner Ian Whitcomb. She is currently performing as the “Singing Park Ranger” at sites in California. Don’t be surprised if you become part of the show! This is a high energy group of outstanding musicians and vocalists!
